You were AMAZING at our Time Out for Women/ Time Out for Girls PORTLAND event! We hope that the event was just the perfect “time out” that you needed.  We just can’t thank you enough for ALL that you did to help fill those seats and find the women that needed to be there.  We could not do these events without our team…and even if we could, we wouldn’t! You are SUCH an important and FUN part of the event.

We loved working with and meeting you at the event. A huge thanks to our team leaders for leading our team.  They have such an incredible passion for the event and for the women in your area and it shows in everything they do.

The comments have been SO great about the experience the women had… from the moment they entered the venue doors, to finding their seats, and enjoying the event, they experienced TOFW/TOFG at its best. And we know a huge part of that is because of your great help. Be sure to watch for the THANK YOU email from TOFW and SHARE it once you get it.

Event Assignments 

You should have heard from your Team Captain by now what your Team Event Assignment is.  If you haven't heard, please call and ask her!  We've just added a new tab to our blog with descriptions of each of the different areas that you may have been assigned to.  Take a minute to READ THE ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTIONS and make sure you know what your specific assignment entails.  If you have questions, you can ask your Team Captain and of course you'll want to make sure you don't miss...

TEAM TRAINING at the Event

At our team training meetings, you will be given details and information specific to your venue and in depth instructions for your area.  It's time to become a "Know it All" again!

Friday 4:00pm: TEAM LEADER training (Team Lead, Team Captains, Scholarship Coordinator )

Friday 4:30pm: TEAM training (All Team Members)

Saturday 7:15am: TEAM training (All Team Members)

SHARE CHALLENGE  

You'll be getting an email from us soon! We send an email to every woman who registered for TOFW or TOFG Portland with lots of important event details including info on parking, lunch and an event schedule.  Once you get the email, send it on to anyone you think might have missed it!  Especially those ladies who might be a little less savvy with their inboxes and junkmail filters.

Women Like You Writing Contest:  We want to make you famous!  Send us an upbeat story (500-700 words) about a journey you’ve taken, a goal you’ve reached, or what you’re doing to SEEK the GOOD. The WINNER will have her story featured in the “Women Like You” section on tofw.com, have two reserved seats on the front row at the TOFW event (tickets not included), and enjoy a lunch backstage with the presenters! Email stories to npickett@deseretbook.com by October 19th.

We are SOOO excited to be talking about the event this week! Because that means it's coming up SOON! And after all of your hard work in getting all of these fantastic women registered, remember it will be a TIME OUT for YOU too! Keep talking about the event and doing what you can to encourage your friends and family to register, there is about 100 seats left for a SELL OUT! You have been amazing!

       REGISTRATION Prices Online are CHEAPER than "At the Door" so be sure to tell them not to wait! (registration online only available through midnight Wednesday, October 31st.)

PRE-EVENT EMAIL: We will be sending an email to the registered attendees (including YOU and scholarship recipients) the week prior to the event. This email will include parking information, lunch details and a reminder about the service project donations. Please tell people to watch for it. TICKETS WILL NOT BE MAILED, this email will have ALL of the information they will need about the event.
EVENT INFO: The Portland Event Webpage also gives all details about parking, lunch, special needs etc. You should also familiarize yourself with the Team FAQ tab if you haven't reviewed it  for a while, as you will be getting LOTS of questions from people that know you are a team member. Girls too!  (Are you sensing a pattern?  Our TOFG Captain will be notifying the girls, but if you know someone on the TOFG team please share this information with her too!)

TEAM MEMBER EVENT ASSIGNMENTS

You will be receiving information from your team lead or captain in the next week about your event assignments and next week’s blog post will have information about what your assignment will entail.

TEAM MEETING FRIDAY & SATURDAY: Please arrive at 4:25pm on Friday and 7:10am on Saturday for our team meetings that will begin PROMPTLY at 4:30 pm on Friday and 7:15 am on Saturday. GO TO THE WILL CALL TABLE and you will be directed to our meeting room. PLEASE give yourself enough time to travel, park, and walk to the team meetings. We will have A LOT to cover in a LITTLE time, so please do not be late. ;) Girls, too!
Team Attire: Nice Casual (no jeans for team members). You will see women in slacks, skirts and everything in between. Wear whatever you feel great in! Girls, too!
Reserved Seats: For Team Members with an Event Assignment we will allow you to reserve a seat for you and one other. You will be asked to NOT save entire rows. Please note that if you have a larger group we ask that they come when the doors open and save you a seat.
Watching the Event: You will be released from your station when the event starts or just shortly after, so you shouldn’t miss anything! Girls, too!

Preregistration Results!

TEAM PORTLAND SERIOUSLY ROCKS!!!

You ladies did an OUT STANDING job!  I am so thrilled that we exceeded our registration goals during preregistration for TOFW and TOFG and I know it is ALL because of YOU!!!  Way to GO!!

Take a little break, you deserve it!  The next blog post will be October 16th, 2012.

Get your GROUPS! 8 more days of Pre-Registration!

That's right, just 8 more days! We are at 66% of our registration goal for TOFW and 77% of our registration goal for TOFG. Keep going! The great news is that it sounds like you're still working with LOTS of groups. Get them registered this week!

WEEKLY FOCUS

As of today we have 1601 women and 271 girls registered,  72 women and 16 girls on scholarship and then add 50 mighty team members and that fills just over 2000 seats at our event! We still have a women and girls to find and remind to reach our registration goals of 2400 and 350!  We can DO IT!

So, let's share the GOOD and ask ourselves...

WHO NEEDS A TIME OUT?
WHO NEEDS TO "SEEK some GOOD in her life?"

Registration: We are at 55% of our registration goal for TOFW and 64% for TOFG, and we should see it fly in the next few weeks as you get those groups that you've been gathering registered!  Your excitement about TOFW & TOFG in PORTLAND is contagious and everyone is going to catch on!  Keep going!

WEEKLY FOCUS

GATHER YOUR GROUPS!

Our group DISCOUNTED pricing is only available through October 3rd, so make sure EVERYONE knows that the best time to register is NOW! We would like each team member to try to find at least 6 women to take the lead in registering a group. That will be 24 women (at least) per team member, which means that together we will be able to find another 1200 women and totally reach our GOAL!

Here's some ideas of how to gather a group:

1) Have a registration party!  Invite everyone over for some treats and then register together at the party so you can all get the group discount and gather money at once. But don't wait too long...in case of early sell out!  A "virtual" party works too.
2) Do a shout out on Facebook to see if anyone out there needs a group to register with.  If they respond, add them you YOUR group!
4) Ask everyone in YOUR group to invite 1 friend to join the group.  That would DOUBLE the size of the group!
3) Dress in a tiara and evening gown (modest of course) and stand on the corner with a "TOFW or Bust" sign.  

4) OK, so 3 wasn't very realistic, but use your creative mind and determined excitement for TOFW and get those groups to register before prices go up!

An e-mail from TOFW: A few posts ago I mentioned that we sent an email to all of our Deseret Book customers in the area reminding them that Time Out for Women pre-registration is in full swing!  Please share the email with everyone just in case they didn't get it from us.  And make sure they know the deadline is FAST APPROACHING!
